Methods & coverage

Access is not speed

Internet use measures the share of people online. Download speed measures performance among Speedtest observations. Neither measures the other. The peer five is PH / MY / TH / VN / ID; Singapore is regional speed context, not a peer. The Philippines trails most peers on mobile speed, but Indonesia is lower in this snapshot.

Ookla: September 2025 only

Both speed panels use the same September 2025 Speedtest Global Index snapshot, reproduced in World Bank Indonesia Economic Prospects December 2025 digital slides. The CSV year is 2025; the source and notes supply September. Live 2026 country pages are not fetched or mixed into this snapshot. Myanmar mobile speed is missing and remains a gap.

Financial inclusion and observation years

Account ownership, making or receiving digital payments, and mobile-money accounts are distinct Findex measures for people aged 15 and over. They overlap and must not be added together. Brunei and Timor-Leste have no Findex observations in the pack. Myanmar retains older Findex observations; Singapore’s digital-payments observation is also older. Each row displays its own source, year and as_of.
