Key findings from this pack

  • PH trails its four peers on longevity, child survival and immunisation in this pack.
  • The same worst-of-five claim does not apply to maternal mortality or UHC.
  • Physician density has mixed observation years and is not a direct quality-of-care measure.

Methods & vintages

The peer five is PH / MY / TH / VN / ID. Longevity, child mortality and immunisation do not establish a single health-system ranking. Singapore is shown only as regional context and is excluded when peer mode is selected.

Different outcomes, different directions

Life expectancy, child survival, maternal mortality, immunisation and service coverage measure different dimensions. Lower under-five and maternal mortality is better; higher life expectancy and immunisation coverage is better. Physician density is not a direct measure of care quality. No composite ranking is calculated.

The PH peer claims about longevity, child mortality and immunisation must not be extended to maternal mortality or UHC. Indonesia has the higher maternal mortality and lower UHC score within these five. Singapore remains a regional ceiling, not a member of that peer set.

Preserve observation years

Life expectancy, child mortality and immunisation use their own CSV observation years; maternal mortality and UHC use theirs. Physician years vary by country, with † stale labels taken from the pack notes. Each value includes source, year and as_of. The mixed-vintages badge does not imply a shared observation year.

Source choices

Under-five mortality follows UN IGME via WDI. Maternal mortality is the modelled estimate distributed through WDI. Immunisation follows WHO/UNICEF via WDI. UHC uses WHO Global Health Observatory through the supplied Our World in Data distribution; the archived WDI UHC series is not substituted. Physician observations use WDI’s workforce series.

Precision and gaps

Life expectancy and under-five mortality display one decimal place; physician density displays two; the other panels show integer values. Bars use original numeric precision; original CSV strings are available in observation notes and downloads. All locked rows have values in this freeze. Future missing values remain gaps, not zero.
